2020 has been a very crazy year so far and we are only at the end of July. Through the past couple of months we have all had to adapt to a new way of life due to COVID-19. You are staying home more. Your children may not be doing their normal summer activities. You may even be working from home.
Things are going to change at work when things go back to normal. It will be our new normal. Here are some things that you may start to see be implemented in the work place as you start returning back to work.
- Masks and social distancing. Most states are now requiring companies to make their employees wear masks while they are working. Companies will now have to ensure that all employees have access to a mask and wear one when they cannot properly socially distance from another person. You may also see that desks are going to be more spread apart. Offices may limit the amount of people allowed in the office to ensure people have enough distance from one another.
- Traveling. Traveling for work may become a thing of the past. Whether it be traveling for conferences or to another work site, traveling for work may be a good choice for your employees. These conferences or meeting that you would have traveled to may now be held via video conferencing.
- Medical screening. States may be requiring mandatory medical screenings prior to each shift. This may be in the form of a questionaire or temperature screening. This can help to potentially detect someone who may have COVID prior to them going into work and spreading it to others.
- Work from home. Many companies are still having their employees work from home, even after the stay at home orders have been lifted. This can help to decrease the likelihood of spreading the virus from one person to another.
- Meetings. Meetings are going to be held differently. You may find that all meeting are now being moved to being over the phone or by video conference. This is to help reduce the amount of people gathering in one area.
