22 Dec Christmas – December 25th 2015
The holiday season is a special time for many people around the world. One prominent holiday is Christmas. Christmas is an annual festival that celebrates the birth of Christ, and is usually celebrated on December 25th. Christmas is celebrated throughout many different nations, by Christians and non-Christians alike. The customs and traditions of Christmas have various origins with both Christian and secular themes. Common Christmas traditions include gift giving, displaying Christmas lights, mistletoe, nativity scenes, hanging stockings, and most popular, decorating a Christmas tree. Candy canes, wreaths, candles, bells, angels, caroling, and Christmas music are also part of the Christmas holiday. One major part of Christmas is Santa Claus. Santa Claus is a symbol of gift giving, believed to be inspired by the Greek Bishop, Saint Nicholas, from the 4th century. The modern Santa Claus celebrated today was created in the U.S. in New York State after the Revolutionary war. The stories of Santa Claus are of a jolly old man, and his wife, Mrs. Claus, who live at the North Pole, and with the help of elves, they spend the year building toys for good children all around the world in preparation for Christmas. Overall Christmas is a time for giving, and being with those you love. No matter how you celebrate this season, Integrated Staffing wishes you the happiest of holidays!
